MRI Lab

George Mason University’s MRI facility is a state-of-the-art resource for Mason faculty, staff, and students, as well as others from the external research and development community. It houses a high field 3 Tesla Siemens MAGNETOM Prisma MRI scanner for human brain and whole body MRI imaging and is staffed by certified MRI technologists.

Our current research is motivated by problems of public health and societal significance. Our research areas include:

Institute for Biohealth Innovation

The Institute for Biohealth Innovation (IBI) unites 300 faculty and thousands of students across 34 departments and centers who conduct research with the goal of advancing human health and wellbeing at multiple scales, from individuals to populations. The team works with national and international collaborators to address six major areas of research to include infectious diseases, brain and behavior, cancer, injury and performance, environmental, reproductive and family health, and metabolic and cardiovascular health.
